The Oregon Health Authority may not purchase or distribute a pediatric vaccine necessary for school entry immunization requirements if the vaccine contains thimerosal, unless thimerosal is detectable only in trace amounts or no other vaccine for the same purpose is commercially available in a form that does not contain thimerosal. The authority may purchase and distribute a pediatric vaccine that contains thimerosal if no other vaccine for the same purpose is commercially available in a form that does not contain thimerosal.
