(1) The Department of Corrections shall make grants to counties for the purpose of providing counties with supplemental funding for the provision of reentry support and services, including transitional housing, to offenders who, having been committed to the custody of the department and placed in the physical custody of the Oregon Youth Authority under ORS 137.124 or other statute, are released on post-prison supervision before attaining 19 years of age.
(2) Grants described in this section shall be made from funds appropriated to the department for that purpose.
