All such persons or parties having or claiming any right, title, estate or interest in the real property in controversy, so served by publication as in ORS 226.590 provided, shall have the same rights as provided by law in case of all other defendants upon whom service is made by publication, and the suit shall proceed against such persons in the same manner as against defendants who are named, upon whom service is made by publication, and with like effect; and any such persons or parties who claim any right, title, estate or interest in said real property in controversy, at the time of the commencement of the suit, duly served as aforesaid, shall be found and concluded by the judgment in such suit, and if the same is in favor of the plaintiff therein, as effectually as if the suit was brought against such defendant by his or her name and constructive service obtained.
