Ohio Revised Code Title XXXIII. Education Libraries § 3326.08

(A) The governing body of each science, technology, engineering, and mathematics school shall engage the services of administrative officers, teachers, and nonteaching employees of the STEM school necessary for the school to carry out its mission and shall oversee the operations of the school. The governing body of each STEM school shall engage the services of a chief administrative officer to serve as the school's instructional and administrative leader. The chief administrative officer shall be granted the authority to oversee the recruitment, retention, and employment of teachers and nonteaching employees.

(B) The department of education shall monitor the oversight of each STEM school exercised by the school's governing body and shall monitor the school's compliance with this chapter and with the proposal for the establishment of the school as it was approved by the STEM committee under section 3326.03 of the Revised Code. Except in the case of a STEM school that is governed and controlled by a school district in accordance with section 3326.51 of the Revised Code, if the department finds that the school is not in compliance with this chapter or with the proposal and the STEM committee has revoked the school's STEM designation under division (E)(1) or (2) or (F) of section 3326.03 of the Revised Code, the department shall consult with the STEM committee, and the committee shall order the school to close on the last day of the school year in which the committee issues its order.

(C) The governing body of each STEM school shall comply with sections 121.22 and 149.43 of the Revised Code.
