On receipt of an application for a license as a marriage and family therapist, the counselor, social worker, and marriage and family therapist board may issue a temporary license to an individual who qualifies under division (A) of section 4757.30 of the Revised Code for licensure as a marriage and family therapist, except that the individual is awaiting the next opportunity to take an examination required by the board under that division. The temporary license allows the holder to engage in the practice of marriage and family therapy as appropriate and is valid from the date of issuance until the earlier of one year from that date, the date the applicant withdraws from taking the examination, the date the applicant is notified that the applicant failed the examination, or the date the applicant's license is issued under section 4757.30 of the Revised Code. A temporary license may not be renewed.
