The state vision professionals board shall hire an executive director. Before entering upon the discharge of official duties of office, the executive director shall give a bond, to be approved by the board, in the sum of two thousand dollars conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties of the office. The premium for such bond shall be paid as are other expenditures of the board. The bond, with the approval of the board and oath of office indorsed thereon, shall be deposited with the secretary of state and kept in the secretary of state's office.
The executive director of the board, in consultation with the director of administrative services, may employ such assistants, inspectors, investigators, and other employees as are necessary to administer this chapter, the expenses thereof to be charged and paid as other expenditures of the board.
