Ohio Revised Code Title XLV. Motor Vehicles Aeronautics Watercraft § 4511.765

(A) The director of education and workforce, by and with the advice of the director of public safety, shall amend any rules adopted under section 4511.76 of the Revised Code pertaining to pre-trip inspections of a school bus.  The amendment shall remove any requirement that the following equipment be included in the pre-trip inspection:

(1) The turbo charger;

(2) The alternator;

(3) The water pump;

(4) The power steering pump;

(5) The air pump;

(6) Any part of the steering system;

(7) Any part of the suspension;

(8) Any part of the air brakes;

(9) Any part of the brake equipment, including drums or rotors;

(10) The springs and spring mounts;

(11) The air bags.

(B) The state highway patrol shall still examine all of the equipment listed in division (A) of this section during its school bus inspections conducted in accordance with section 4511.761 of the Revised Code.
