A proposition submitting an act or resolution of the board of trustees to the approval of the electors pursuant to this chapter shall contain an abstract of such act or resolution concisely stating the purpose and effect thereof. The village clerk shall prepare such abstract proposition in the form in which it is proposed to be submitted to the board of trustees for approval. Said board shall submit the approved proposition at an annual or special election in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. If there be more than one such proposition to be voted upon at such election, each proposition shall be separately and consecutively numbered.
