New York Consolidated Laws, Vehicle and Traffic Law - VAT § 468. Preservation of consumer protection statutes

Nothing contained herein shall in any way be construed or interpreted to modify, limit or affect the full powers and duties heretofore or hereafter granted to consumer protection agencies created by statute or regulation enacted by state, city, county or local municipalities and the rights of consumers to make complaints thereto, it being the intent of this article to provide for the settlement and/or determination of disputes under the franchised motor vehicle dealer act   1 as between franchisors and franchised motor vehicle dealers as defined herein.
