Where the office receives a request for another agency's data which is in the possession of the office because it administers, operates or manages a statewide technology program, the office will transmit, within five days, in writing the request to the agency that owns the data with a copy of this law and send a copy of the transmittal to the requester. Upon receiving the forwarded request, the agency must comply with article six of the public officers law as if it had initially received the request. The time periods for responding to a request as required by article six of the public officers law commence when the agency receives the request from the office.
