Actions or proceedings pending in the courts, or otherwise, to cancel a lien which is being foreclosed by a proceeding under this article, shall be terminated upon the institution of a foreclosure proceeding pursuant to this article, and the rights and remedies of the parties in interest to such pending actions or proceedings shall be determined by the court in such foreclosure proceeding.
