The division of housing in the executive department is hereby continued. Notwithstanding the provisions of the state housing law, 1 the term of office of all members of the state housing board in existence prior to the enactment of this chapter and of officers and employees of such board shall expire on July first, nineteen hundred thirty-nine. All of the files, papers, documents and property of the state housing board in existence prior to the enactment of this chapter shall be transferred to the commissioner.
