1. Members of the board of health of a consolidated health district, whether or not members of a town board or a village board of trustees, shall be allowed a per diem compensation of not more than ten dollars for each calendar day in actual attendance at a meeting of the board of health of the district, to be fixed and determined by the board of health of the district and which compensation in the case of any member shall not exceed the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars in any one year.
2. Members of the board of health of a consolidated health district shall also be allowed their actual and necessary expenses.
3. The compensation and expenses of members of the board of health of a consolidated health district shall be audited and paid in the same manner as the other expenses of the consolidated health district.
