1. The department may conduct periodic inspections of a medical equipment service agency to determine compliance with requirements set forth in this article and any related regulations.
2. The commissioner may also require medical equipment service agencies to submit, in a form prescribed by the commissioner, semi-annual reports containing such information as is necessary to ensure compliance with the provisions of this article.
3. The department may prescribe in rules and regulations standards for the provision of home medical equipment services. To the maximum extent possible, such standards shall incorporate by reference the standards established for the provision of these services by a national accrediting agency approved by the department.
4. The department may adopt and amend rules and regulations necessary to implement this article.
