New York Consolidated Laws, Legislative Law - LEG § 20. Detail of officers and employees for special duties

The presiding officer and the respective secretary or clerk of each house or either of them, may detail any of the officers or employees thereof to perform such duties in addition to those ordinarily performed as they may deem advisable to promote the business of such house.
