The office of court administation 1 shall make available to the department of social services copies of retainer statements or closing statements filed with the office of court administration pursuant to the rules of the appellate divisions, or relevant information contained therein, for the purpose of enabling the department to compare a list of parties against the department's public assistance and medical assistance recipient listings in order for the department to determine the potential for recovery of such assistance paid, consistent with applicable law.
