The stenographer to each of the justices of the supreme court in the third and fourth judicial districts, appointed pursuant to section one hundred and fifty-eight of this chapter, must attend and perform all such services, as may be required of him in reporting, writing out, copying and otherwise assisting in all judicial proceedings before the justice appointing him, and also in transmitting papers to the county clerk's office in said district for filing and entry therein.
