The consultation clerks appointed by the justices of the appellate division in each of the third and fourth departments, shall act under the direction of said justices and shall attend the sittings of said court and render such clerical and stenographic services thereat and during the official consultations as the justices of said department may require, and shall, under the direction of said justices, make up and prepare for filing in the office of the clerk the official list of decisions to be rendered by said court.
