1. Except as provided herein, this article shall apply to the sale or offer of sale of membership camping contracts to residents of the state if the facilities which are the subject of the membership camping contract are in the state, or if the sale or offer of sale is made in the state.
2. Membership campground operators subject to regulation under this article shall not be subject to regulation under article twenty-three-A of this chapter or article nine-A of the real property law.
3. The resale of a single membership camping contract by the purchaser other than the membership campground operator, or an employee, agent or affiliate of the membership campground operator, shall not be subject to the provisions of this article.
4. This article shall not apply to the sale or offer for sale of a successor contract which replaces an existing contract, unless the successor contract is executed within the cancellation period provided for in section six hundred fifty-four of this article.
