There is hereby established within the division of state police the sexual assault victims unit, which shall be a specialized unit having advanced training in responding to sexual assaults, including campus sexual assaults, and related crimes. The sexual assault victims unit shall perform such tasks as determined by the superintendent, which shall include but not be limited to providing assistance, including forensic support services, to campus police or local police or sheriff's departments, and providing training to college campus communities.
