The board of trustees shall continue to pay salaries to the supervisors, teachers and all other employees of any preparatory high school or model school under its jurisdiction which shall be the same as those paid by the board of education of the same city to persons discharging like functions in similar schools under the jurisdiction of the said board of education. The city school district of such city shall be entitled to receive apportionments of public school moneys for the elementary and secondary schools maintained in and by such city and under the control of the board of trustees on the same basis as such city school district receives apportionments of public school moneys for the elementary and high school conducted by the board of education of such city. The board of trustees shall make all reports required by the commissioner of education as the basis for calculating such apportionment.
