It shall be a misdemeanor for any employee, agent or representative of a firm, company or corporation engaged in selling, publishing or manufacturing papers, periodicals, books, maps, charts, school supplies, apparatus or furniture, or any other person engaged or employed in such business to falsely represent to a board of trustees or board of education of a school district or to a teacher employed in a public school in this state or to a superintendent of schools or other school officer that he is an agent, employee, or representative of the commissioner of education, the state education department, the regents, or of any other school officer.
