All moneys to which the clerks of the counties comprising the city of New York are entitled, by virtue of their office, or which they may receive for any and all official services rendered by them, or by any of their assistants, clerks, employees, or subordinates shall belong to and be for the benefit of the city of New York, and shall be collected by such clerks and accounted for and paid over on the first day of each month into the treasury of the city of New York.
