A registered nurse may perform such acts, under emergency or other special conditions prescribed by regulations adopted by the Board, which include special training, as are recognized by the medical and nursing professions as proper to be performed by a registered nurse under those conditions, even though the acts might otherwise be considered diagnosis and prescription, but nothing in this chapter authorizes registered nurses to perform those functions and duties specifically delegated by law to persons licensed as dentists, podiatric physicians, optometrists, naprapaths or chiropractic physicians.
