The Department shall issue a temporary appraiser's certificate to a person who is newly employed as an appraiser by the State or any of its political subdivisions and who applies to take the appraiser's certificate examination. The temporary certificate expires 2 years after the date of issue or when the results of the applicant's examination are determined, whichever occurs first. A temporary certificate shall not be renewed.
