Upon the initiation of an annexation by either of the methods provided in NRS 268.636, and within 5 days after the filing of the necessary documents if initiated by property owners, the clerk of the governing body shall file a notice, in duplicate, of intention to annex with the commission. The notice shall contain the specific boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed.
