If upon the canvass it is found that a majority of the votes cast at the election were cast in favor of the ratification of the charter, as provided in NRS 267.080, the mayor of the city shall thereupon attach to the charter a certificate in substance as follows:
I, ________________, mayor of ________________, do hereby certify that in accordance with the terms and provisions of Section 8 of Article 8 of the Constitution, and the laws of the State of Nevada, an election was held on the __________ day of the month of __________ of the year _____, at which 15 qualified electors were elected to prepare a charter for the city of ______________________; that notice of the election was given in the manner provided by law; that on the __________ day of the month of __________ of the year _____, the election was held, and the votes cast at that election were canvassed by the governing body of the city, and the following persons were declared elected to prepare and propose a charter for the city of _________________.
That thereafter, on the __________ day of the month of __________ of the year____, the board of electors returned a proposed charter for the city of ________________, signed by the following members thereof: _________________.
That thereafter the proposed charter was published once in a newspaper and posted in three of the most public places in the city, to wit: For one publication, the publication in a newspaper on the __________ day of the month of __________ of the year _____, and was posted on the __________ day of the month of __________ of the year ______.
That thereafter, on the __________ day of the month of __________ of the year _____, an election was held at which the proposed charter was submitted to the qualified electors of the city, and the returns of the election were canvassed by the governing body at a meeting held on the __________ day of the month of __________ of the year _____, and the result of the election was found to be as follows: For the proposed charter, ________ votes; against the proposed charter, ________ votes. Majority for the proposed charter, ________ votes.
Whereupon the charter was ratified by a majority of the qualified electors voting at the election.
And I further certify that the foregoing is a full, true and complete copy of the proposed charter voted upon and ratified as aforesaid.
In testimony whereof, I hereunto set my hand and affix the corporate seal of the city this __________ day of the month of __________ of the year ______.
