New Mexico Statutes Chapter 76. Agriculture § 76-16-2. Declaration

The purpose of this act is to promote the development of the New Mexico pecan industry; to prevent deception in the packing, marking, shipping or sale of unshelled pecans which are packed, marketed, sold or shipped from this state to other states, or imported from other states into this state, or which are sold in this state in packages or bulk, and to set up and establish standards therefor, and protect from disease and injurious insects the pecan orchards of the state.
