New Mexico Statutes Chapter 62. Electric, Gas and Water Utilities § 62-18-15. Fee assessments

The energy transition charge stated as a separate line entry on a customer bill sent by a qualifying utility may be subject to an assessment of a franchise fee imposed by a municipality, county or other political subdivision of the state, pursuant to a utility franchise agreement. The imposition, collection and receipt of an energy transition charge is exempt from inspection and supervision fees assessed pursuant to the Public Utility Act.
