The human services [health care authority] department is authorized to accept and use federal grants or matching funds for the purpose of reimbursement to certain rural hospitals for using empty acute care beds for intermediate care and skilled nursing care, as defined in federal statutes and regulations, subject to federal approval and the availability of funds. The department is authorized to use funds from existing appropriations for matching federal funds for the purposes of this act.
