The Director of the Division of Fire Safety may adopt rules and regulations pursuant to the “Administrative Procedure Act,” P.L.1968, c. 410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.) to effectuate the purposes of this act; except that, notwithstanding any provision of P.L.1968, c. 410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.) to the contrary, the Commissioner of Community Affairs may adopt, immediately upon filing with the Office of Administrative Law, such regulations as the State fire coordinator deems necessary to implement the provisions of this act, and which shall be effective for a period not to exceed six months and may thereafter be amended, adopted or readopted by the State fire coordinator in accordance with the requirements of P.L.1968, c. 410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.).
