Any violation of this act 1 by any railroad company shall constitute a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of not less than five hundred dollars ($500.00) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00). In the event that any such violation continues for more than one day, each day during which the violation continues shall be deemed to be a separate offense. Any officer or agent of any such railroad company or any other person who shall knowingly authorize or allow any train operation over or upon any such runaround or temporary tracks except for the purpose of inspection or testing thereof, without the said cautionary boards having been previously installed, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of not less than five hundred dollars ($500.00) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) and also by imprisonment not to exceed three years, or either, or both.
