No person who shall have graduated after January first, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, shall be admitted to examination for license to practice podiatric medicine unless, in addition to the requirements of R.S.45:5-3 he shall prove further to the board that after the receipt of the diploma conferring the degree of doctor of podiatric medicine he had served an internship in a duly licensed clinic, connected or affiliated with a school or college of podiatric medicine and approved by the board, for one full school year of not less than eight months, consisting of a minimum number of four hundred and eighty hours devoted to the practice of podiatric medicine in all its branches.
