New Jersey Statutes Title 40A. Municipalities and Counties 40A § 14-130

In any municipality wherein Title 11 (Civil Service)  1 of the Revised Statutes is not in operation, except as otherwise provided by law, a member or officer of the municipal police department or force shall not be promoted until he has served at least 3 years in such department or force.

1 Repealed. See, now, Title 11A.
