If an execution defendant dies after execution issued, and a levy and sale of personal property be made thereafter, the exemption selection to be reserved for the use of his family shall be made by the person or persons entitled to make such selection by section 3A:8-7 of the title Administration of Estates--Decedents and Others. 1 If the property reserved for the benefit of the family of the decedent shall be set off under the provisions of said section 3A:8-7, the property so set off shall also be the property exempted from sale under execution.
