New Jersey Statutes Title 27. Highways 27 § 7A-10

The State Highway Commissioner may designate as freeways, in accordance with chapter 83, Public Laws of 1945,  1 routes in the State approved by the United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of Public Roads, as a part of the interstate highway system in the National System of Interstate Highways, dated September 15, 1955.
