New Jersey Statutes Title 26. Health and Vital Statistics 26 § 4-30

When a local board or health officer receives a report from the director or from any person authorized by the director to make such report, that a person within the jurisdiction of the local board or health officer is, or is suspected to be, a person with a sexually transmitted infection, the board or health officer may cause a medical examination to be made of the person for the purpose of ascertaining whether or not such person is in fact a person with a sexually transmitted infection.
