The Cannabis Regulatory Commission established pursuant to section 31 of P.L.2019, c. 153 (C.24:6I-24) and the Commissioner of Health are authorized to coordinate and enforce the provisions of section 6 of P.L.2021, c. 25 (C.2A:170-51.13) with respect to the prohibition on the sale or distribution of cannabis items, as defined in section 3 of P.L.2021, c. 16 (C.24:6I-33), to persons under 21 years of age. The commission, or commissioner, or both, may delegate the enforcement authority provided in this section to local health agencies, subject to the availability of sufficient funding. The commission, in consultation with the commissioner, shall report on the enforcement program's progress, results of enforcement efforts, and other matters the commission deems appropriate in the commission's annual report on personal use cannabis activities that is prepared pursuant to paragraph (3) of subsection a. of section 14 of P.L.2009, c. 307 (C.24:6I-12).
