New Jersey Statutes Title 26. Health and Vital Statistics 26 § 1A-36.3b

The WIC Services Unit in the Department of Health shall temporarily authorize a vendor that applies to participate in the federal Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children at a particular site if the applicant is approved to operate at another site and has not been deficient in its participation as specified by State and federal law and regulation.

The WIC Services Unit shall grant the temporary authorization within 14 days of the completion of the initial review of the site by the WIC Services Unit. The temporary authorization shall be valid until the vendor's application is approved or disapproved.

The WIC Services Unit shall not issue a temporary authorization where doing so would be contrary to federal regulations or would jeopardize federal financial participation.
