Notwithstanding the repeal of sections 24 to 110, inclusive, of chapter 13 of Title 18 of the Revised Statutes 1 with all amendments and supplements thereto, as of January 1, 1956, by section 3 of chapter 37 of the laws of 1955, saved from repeal in section 18A:66-91 of this article, and the further repeal of all of the other sections of said chapter 13 of Title 18 of the Revised Statutes by section 18A:76-3 of this law, the teachers' pension and annuity fund is continued with its membership and all of its securities, investments and other assets and, except as otherwise provided in this article, all obligations and liabilities existing as of the effective date of this article, shall be hereafter administered in accordance with the provisions of this article and any benefits and allowances granted under the statutes repealed by said section prior to the effective date of this article shall be continued in the same manner and under the same conditions as originally granted.
