Whenever any board of education shall by resolution determine that any tract of land is no longer desirable or necessary for school purposes it may authorize the conveyance thereof, for a nominal consideration, to a renaissance school project established pursuant to P.L.2011, c. 176 (C.18A:36C-1 et seq.). The president and secretary of the board shall be authorized to execute and deliver a conveyance for the same in the name and under the seal of the board, which conveyance shall be subject to a condition providing that the land shall be used by the renaissance school project for school purposes, and in the event that the property shall cease to be used for those purposes, the property shall thereupon revert to and the title thereof shall vest in the board of education making the conveyance thereof hereunder.
