New Jersey Statutes Title 18A. Education 18A § 17A-8

Subject to the provisions of section 12 of this act,  1 any person serving under tenure as an assistant superintendent, secretary to the board of education, assistant secretary to the board of education, school business administrator, school business manager in a city of the first class with a population of over 325,000 as of the effective date of this act shall continue to serve under tenure in the district during good behavior and efficiency and shall not be dismissed or reduced in compensation except for just cause; provided, however, that they shall perform only such administrative duties as are prescribed or delegated by the executive superintendent.
