10. In case any owner, mortgagee or other person appearing to have an interest in said lands so sold, shall be known to be an infant under the age of twenty-one years, no deed shall be delivered to the purchaser, or to his legal representatives or assigns, by the town collector or other collecting officer, except upon the order of the circuit court of the county wherein said lands are situate, to be made upon a duly verified petition of the purchaser, his legal representatives or assigns, and upon such notice to said infants or their guardians, as the court may deem proper; and the court in such case may appoint a guardian ad litem, and inquire into the ability of the said infants or their estate to redeem said land, and may postpone the hearing thereon from time to time, in its discretion, to give opportunity for such redemption, and make such order in relation to such deed as may be equitable and just.
