4. That before any person so appointed a director shall enter on the duties of his office, he shall file in the office of the secretary of state an oath or affirmation, which he shall have taken and subscribed before some person duly authorized to administer the same, in which oath or affirmation he shall declare that he will not (during the time for which he was appointed such director) either directly or indirectly own stock in either of said companies; will faithfully and diligently perform the duties imposed by this act, without fear or favor; and that he will not receive from said companies, or either of them, any office or employment of any kind.
