1. Any court attendant of the counties of the second class of the state of New Jersey, being a veteran of any war, and who is a member of the retirement system created pursuant to the provisions of the act to which this act is a supplement, may, at any time, make application to withdraw from the said system, and upon making of such application, of which ten days' notice shall be given, he shall be entitled to have and receive, upon demand, the amount of his said payments, with interest thereon at the rate of four per cent (4%) per annum, without prejudice to his right as a veteran to any benefit to which he might be entitled under any other laws of the state of New Jersey.
