1. That all islands, islets and dry land, annexed to the jurisdiction of this state, in and by the act, the title of which is recited in the preamble to this act, and lying between the station point, or northwest corner of New Jersey, northerly, and the state of Delaware, southerly, shall hereafter be deemed and considered as parts and parcels of such counties and townships, to which said islands, or insulated dry land do or doth lie nearest, except Petty's islands, which shall be annexed to the township of Newton, in the county of Gloucester; and the proprietors, or owners thereof, shall be subject to the payment of taxes, for the said islands in the said counties and townships accordingly.
