New Jersey Acts Saved from Repeal ACTS SAVED 40 § 108-1(11)

Any city or ward officer, except mayor or councilmen, may be removed from office by resolution, for disability, or other good cause shown, upon complaint in writing to the city council, setting forth such cause, supported by one or more affidavits of the truth of the facts therein alleged; provided, however, that no such removal shall take place until the person sought to be removed has had an opportunity to be heard in his defense, nor unless two-thirds of all the members of the city council shall vote for such removal; vacancies occurring in such office shall be filled for the unexpired term by the city council.
