1. The New Jersey Interstate Bridge and Tunnel Commission is hereby authorized and empowered to join in and execute a deed or deeds for the sale and conveyance of any interest the state of New Jersey may have in and to any lands heretofore acquired in the state of New York, pursuant to the provisions of chapter 178 of the Laws of 1919, of the state of New York, and acts amendatory thereof and supplementary thereto, provided such commission, with the concurrence of the New York State Bridge and Tunnel Commission, shall determine and certify that such lands or interest therein are no longer necessary for the construction and operation of the Holland tunnel. Any such conveyance executed by the president and secretary of the New Jersey Interstate Bridge and Tunnel Commission shall be ample for the purposes of conveyance of title thereto.
Any and all proceeds from the public sale of any of such premises or interest in such premises, shall be shared equally by the state of New Jersey and the state of New York, and shall be added to the operating revenues of said tunnel and shall be accounted for as such by the said commission.
