When the security of the proceeds of sale is taken or when an investment of any proceeds is made, it must be done, except as otherwise provided in this part, in the name of the clerk of the court where the papers are filed and the clerk's successors in office, who shall hold the proceeds for the use and benefit of the persons interested subject to the order of the court.
