(1) The county surveyor shall work under the direction of the board of county commissioners. The county surveyor may not incur any indebtedness on the part of the county without the prior order or approval of the board. The county surveyor must be provided with suitable office space, together with necessary equipment, to perform the various duties as prescribed by law.
(2) The county surveyor shall make all surveys, establish all grades, and prepare plans, specifications, and estimates.
(3) The county surveyor shall make progress reports and estimates of all work and other facts in relation to the work as may be required by the board.
